Cinque Northern is an Emmy Nominated and Peabody award-winning filmmaker who is passionate about the intersection of cinematic artistry and social impact. He has over eighteen years of experience as an documentary editor and recently directed Angola Do You Hear Us? (MTV Documentary Films), a critically acclaimed short that was nominated for a Critics Choice award and shortlisted for an Academy Award ®.
Cinque co-wrote, field directed, and was co-editor on the Emmy nominated The One and Only Dick Gregory (Showtime) executive produced by Kevin Hart and Lena Waithe. He also edited and co-wrote the critically acclaimed My Name is Pauli Murray (AmazonStudios) with Academy Award-nominated directors Betsy West and Julie Cohen. Cinque recently was an editor on the Docuseries The Hair Tales (Hulu/Own) and Descendant (Netflix) which was shortlisted for an Academy Award.
As a painter and a fourth generation artist, Cinque brings a strong visual sensibility to story telling and is drawn to projects that push creative boundaries. He holds and MFA from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and lives in Santa Barbara California.
