CINQUE NORTHERN
is an Emmy-nominated, Peabody Award-winning director and editor with over two decades of experience in documentary film. A trained artist, he directs with an eye for image and composition, using intimate stories to question the larger systems his participants navigate.
Cinque directed and edited Angola Do You Hear Us? (MTV Documentary Films) which was shortlisted for an Academy Award and nominated for a Critics Choice Award. He also field directed and was an editor on the Emmy-nominated The One and Only Dick Gregory (Showtime) executive produced by Kevin Hart and Lena Waithe. Cinque edited and co-wrote the critically acclaimed My Name is Pauli Murray (Amazon Studios) with Academy Award-nominated directors Betsy West and Julie Cohen. Cinque holds an MFA in filmmaking from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and is a Concordia Fellowship recipient. He is currently in production with his feature directorial debut, Young Lions, executive produced by Davis Guggenheim.
